Who’s Better? Marvel or DC?

Marvel vs. D.C have been cinematic and comic rivals since I’ve known about them. They both are good. Marvel is considered to have more realistic characters while D.C has characters who just have depth. Who’s the best though? Is Marvel overrated? Is D.C boring? Are they on the same level?

While D.C provides more background for their characters, Marvel’s characters are more relatable. Take Peter Parker: he is just a regular kid who gets bitten by a radioactive spider and then got the powers of Spiderman. There’s also Captain America who was just a small young man with a dream to be in the US Army who was turned into a super-soldier by the super-soldier serum. While the average person can’t relate to being a superhero, we all know what it’s like to be a kid, and have a dream.

D.C does have characters who have depth, like Batman, but he is still just an entitled rich white man who saves the same town over and over. Wonder Woman is gifted her powers by the Gods and was made out of clay.  Neither of those are characters that the average person can find something to relate to.

A person could argue that Ironman and Batman are the same, like how both their parents died tragically, and they’re both rich, white, and entitled. Ironman, though, gets called out on the things he does wrong in the movies, and he takes responsibility for all of his wrongs. In Batman movies you never see him get held accountable for his actions.

Furthermore, Marvel movies in general make more money than D.C movies.

“In the ratings game, Marvel wins by a large margin: 66% of Marvel films are certified fresh compared to 54% of DC films. Between the box office numbers and ratings, Marvel is still coming out on top,” said Trevor Wheelwright from reviews.org.

The highest box sales that D.C has come from Aquaman which made $1,146,893,640 by himself. Which I understand because have you seen him, but overall that movie does not top ANY marvel movie in my head.

D.C’s budget is smaller than Marvel’s. Maybe that is why some of their movies seem low quality compared to Marvel. There is an easy solution to that.

All and all Marvel is better than D.C. Since that statement is true, Marvel should buy out D.C and take their universe and make it better.
